In 2015 at 19 she debuted her first single Here. It received praise from listeners and music critics. The track made it to the top 19 in both the Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's Top Songs. That same year she debuted her debut album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked at the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. The track was also among the first five songs. The track was distinctive due to the fact that many listeners were able to relate to the conversation she conducted with Rap-Up about her struggle in learning to love and accept herself. Cara's music is known to be filled with messages of kindness self-love, self-love and mental wellness. The inspiration for her music is drawn from her own personal journey as she has been battling mental health issues and insomnia. In an Reuters interview, she described her album as half tumultuous and half well-crafted. Therapy helped her grow and encourages other people to seek out help when needed. When she was 10 years old, her parents gifted her a guitar that became the beginning of her passion for music.
