Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born March 14, 1997 in Columbus Ohio U.S.A. The 2016 Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro she became the first female U.S. gymnast to win four gold medals at one Games and was also the first gymnast in history to win three consecutive World All-around championships (2013-15). Biles was raised in Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area following the time she and her sister Adria were adopted by their parents Ronald and Nellie Biles. Simone was first introduced to the sport of gymnastics through her daycare instructor Aimee Borman when she was six years old. She stayed at Bannon's Gymnastix for 11 years. Biles received a silver medal for vault as well as a gold medal on the floor at the 2010 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. The year 2011 saw her begin participating in the elite level of competition. In less than two years, she was a dominant competitor in the sport. Biles stood out for her consistent performance, exuberant character, as well as the difficulty she encountered at all four events including vault, uneven bars and the balance beam.
