Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada but grew up in the United States. She has worked as a media critic since 1995. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency a website that hosts videos and commentary analyzing depictions of women's roles in popular cultural. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic as well as blogger. Feminist Frequency investigates how women are depicted in popular culture. She's committed to removing stereotypes of women as they appear in popular media. Sarkeesian is a graduate in political and social thinking from York University.
